Foundation Programme in Engineering and Business
BTEC Level 3 Extended National Diploma in Engineering and Business

The foundation programmes offered leading to progression to the BTEC Level 5 Higher National Diploma programmes in Business, Engineering (Electrical and Electronics Engineering, *Civil Engineering and *Mechanical Engineering) and Computing disciplines upon successful completion of the foundation programme.

BTEC Level 5 Higher National Diploma Programmes:
Higher National Diploma in Business (4 semesters – 18 to 24 months)

The Edexcel BTEC Level 5 HND in Business and Management is a qualification with a minimum of 240 credits of which 125 are mandatory core. . In additional to individual grades per unit, learners will also receive a final, overall grade determined under pass, merit or distinction. This can be studied as a stand-alone programme or can form part of a three-year degree programme – the University of Bolton, B.A. (Hons) in Business Management. Successful completion of the HND allows direct entry to a one-year top-up Honours Degree.
Higher National Diploma in Electrical and Electronics Engineering (5 semesters – 18 to 24 months)

The BTEC Higher National Diploma (HND) in Electrical & Electronic Engineering accredited at Level 5 of the QCF and consists of units equating to a total of 240 credits. This can be studied as a stand-alone programme or can form part of a three-year degree programme. Successful completion of the HND may allow direct entry to a one-year top-up Honours Degree. These courses offer a broad base of core modules with the opportunity to select some modules in your second year. This provides the fundamental knowledge to enable you to become rapidly established in your chosen field. You will also have to undertake a practical project. You will gain a lot of experience in using industry standard equipment and simulation packages.
Higher National Diploma in Computing and Systems Development (5 semesters – 18 to 24 months)

The BTEC Higher National Diploma (HND) in Computing & Systems Development accredited at Level 5 of the QCF and consists of units equating to a total of 240 credits. It can be studied as a stand-alone programme or can form part of a three-year degree programme – the University of Bolton B.Sc (Hons) in Computing. Successful completion of the HND allows direct entry to a one-year top-up Honours Degree. The HND will give you a comprehensive overview thorough grounding in the main areas of modern computing, providing you with the real, practical skills needed in today’s competitive international commercial environment.
